The Admission Process at Kwangju Foreign School
Candidates for admission to KFS must meet at least one of the following categories as set forth by the Korean Ministry of Education.
– A student having parents (one or both) holding a non-Korean passport.
– Korean citizen (including dual passport holder) have lived outside of Korea for 1095 days or holds 6 semester report cards from school outside of Korea.
※ Regarding Korean nationals recruitment of them only up to the level of 30% of the class capacity. (Provided however that such shall only apply to student annually accepted after February 2009 to the lowest grade level.)
Follow These Steps:
Step 1: Visit our School.
Please take time to visit the school to meet with the administration, take a school tour, and determine if KFS is the right school for your family’s needs. Please contact the school and setup an appointment for a personal tour of the school, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.
If a personal visit to school is not possible, you may begin with step 2.
Step 2: Complete Application Documents

Step 3: Submit Application to the School
Submit all application documents and required supplemental materials to the main office. They may be hand delivered, mailed, emailed to the school.

Step 4: Schedule Student Interview and Placement Test
After receiving application materials, the school will contact parents of the applicants to schedule a student interview and placement test. In addition to the interview, applicants are required to take a placement test to demonstrate English proficiency and determine student needs.
Step 5: Receive Admission Notification
After reviewing the application, conducting a student interview, and administering the placement test, parents of applicants will be notified of the admission decision. Please allow one week after the placement test has been administered for admission notification
